Viljormur Davidsen scored the lone goal of the match in the 33rd minute to give his team a lead that stood for the remainder of the game. Armenia possessed the ball for the majority of the game, but could not break through the Faroe Islands’ defense. With 25 shots against and 16 corners for Armenia, the Faroe Islands will need to improve defensively for a shot to beat North Macedonia.

North Macedonia played Latvia on Thursday and while the team should have won handily, Latvia held them to just a 1-0 win. North Macedonia outshot Latvia 18-7, but did not find the back of the net until the 57th minute with a goal from Nikola Serafimov. Latvia only had one big chance to tie the game up, but Stole Dimitrievski handled it in net and was able to keep the lead for his team.

When North Macedonia and the Faroe Islands met earlier in group play, the game ended in a 1-1 draw with Viljormur Davidsen scoring for the Faroe Islands and Enis Bardhi scoring for North Macedonia.
