Steve Clarke’s Scotland is just 90 minutes from retaining its place in UEFA Nations League A at home to Greece on Sunday. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

Scotland needs only a draw or better at home to Greece on Sunday in order to guarantee it will remain a part of the UEFA Nations League’s highest echelon as the relegation play-offs conclude this weekend. Scott McTominay scored the only goal of the game as the Scots – who finished third in Group A1 last year to force a play-off – snatched a 1-0 win from their trip to Athens on Thursday. That means even keeping the scoreline level in the second leg at Hampden Park would ensure Scotland remains in Nations League A, while Greece know nothing but a win will do if it’s to get promoted.

In the first of four scheduled meetings between these teams in 2025, Scotland took a considerable advantage in the head-to-head in midweek.

As well as being pitted against one another in the UEFA Nations League play-offs, Scotland and Greece have also been drawn in the same group in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

And Greece has its work cut out in overturning a slim deficit in Glasgow this weekend, returning to Hampden Park just short of 30 years following its first and only visit to date.

Napoli talisman McTominay grabbed the only goal of the game in Athens, though the midfielder was perhaps fortunate to be awarded his spot-kick after it appeared he may have slipped in the build-up:

But it just so happens Greece coach Ivan Jovanovic has history when it comes to causing upsets on British shores, having clinched a 2-1 win over England at Wembley just last year.

The Serb steered his side to a famous victory just a couple of months after arriving in the position, having won five of his seven games in charge of Greece to date.

Clarke’s recent record makes for fine reading after stitching together three straight wins, and a fourth on Sunday would yield major rewards as Scotland fight to remain among Europe’s best and brightest.
