PJ Haggerty and No. 14 Memphis will take the court against Jamille Reynolds and South Florida in an AAC battle on Thursday.
Memphis, the No. 14-ranked men’s college basketball team in the country, will travel to Tampa, Florida, in the middle of this week in an American Athletic Conference battle. On Thursday, they will face off against USF at the Yuengling Center. The Memphis Tigers are 20-4 overall this season and have risen to 10-1 against teams in the AAC. They are the top of the conference with a 1.5 game lead over UAB and a two-game lead over North Texas. There is an 8.5-game span between the top and the bottom (Charlotte) of this conference.

They have won all three games in February thus far. They took down Rice on the road by three points, followed by Tulsa at home by 12 points, rounding out with an eight-point win over Temple at home. PJ Haggerty leads Memphis in scoring this season, averaging 21.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He is tied for No. 4 in the NCAA in scoring per game.
The USF Bulls are 12-12 overall this season heading into this week. After a 6-5 non-conference schedule in the first two months, they have since gone just 5-6 against teams in the conference. They are tied with Eastern Carolina and one game behind Temple. They are also one game head of UTSA.
They opened up February with a loss to Florida Atlantic by 22 points before beating Temple by nine points in a double-overtime thriller. Jamille Reynolds led the team in a game-high performance of 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting in the win. Last weekend, they stayed home and lost to Wichita State by five points.
