Naomi Osaka came out of the first round with a tough three-set win. The competition only gets tougher with each round for the two-time Australian Open winner and four time Grand Slam winner, as she takes on 20th seeded Karolina Muchova.

Over in the men’s draw seventh-seeded Novak Djokovic, the face of the Australian Open, got off to a rocky start before winning in four sets. Djokovic started this year’s run towards history losing the first set to Nisheesh Basavareedy before settling in for the win. Up next is unseeded Jaime Faria in a first time matchup in any tournament.

Six of the top 10 seeds, including number one seeded Jannik Sinner are also in action to kick-off round two of the 2025 Australian Open. Second-seeded Alexander Zverev and third-seeded Carlos Alcaraz continue their journey to get back to the quarterfinals, where Zverev defeated Alcaraz last year.
