Aryna Sabalenka, Novak Djokovic, Coco Gauff and more are in action in the third round of the 2025 Australian Open.
The third round of the 2025 Australian Open is an opportunity for some of the best players in the world to advance to the round of 16. In the women’s singles draw four top 10 seeded players are in action led by top-seeded and two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka. She takes on Clara Tauson with the opportunity to make it to the fourth round for the fifth year in a row at the Australian Open and ninth time in a row in a Grand Slam. Third-seeded Coco Gauff, fourth-seeded Jasmine Paolini and seventh-seeded Jessica Pegula are also in action. Gauff has made the fourth round of five straight Grand Slams and will be challenged by 30th seeded Leylah Fernandez in what could be the match of the day.

Over in the men’s draw every top seeded player is on upset alert. Through the first two rounds of the Australian Open four players seeded in the top 15 have already been upset highlighted by sixth-seeded Casper Ruud, ninth-seeded Andrey Rublev, 10th seeded Grigor Dimitrov and 11th seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas.
In action today top-seeded Jannik Sinner, second-seeded Alexander Zverev, third-seeded Carlos Alcaraz, fifth-seeded Daniil Medvedev and seventh-seeded Novak Djokovic are all in action, looking to avoid an upset.
Djokovic won his second straight match in five sets holding off Jaime Faria despite some drama with arena lighting. Throughout his career Djokovic has won the Australian Open 10 times, the semifinals 11 times, the quarterfinals 14 times and has only been eliminated three times ahead of the round of 16 in his career.
