    Red-hot No. 17 Kentucky can wrap up a sweep of visiting No. 13 Alabama with a victory on Sunday at Kentucky Proud Park

    No. 17 Kentucky (26-4) picked up its seventh straight victory on Saturday, blanking No. 13 Alabama to secure a Southeastern Conference series win. On Sunday, the Wildcats look to secure their second straight SEC sweep when they close out the three-game set with the Crimson Tide at Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington. Kentucky, at 10-1, leads the SEC East Division by three games over Vanderbilt while Alabama fell to 4-7 and stands fourth in the SEC West. The Wildcats returned to the NCAA touranment for the first time in six years last spring and reached just their second super regional. The Tide returned to the tournament after a one-year absence before falling in super regional play.

    Left-hander Dominic Niman shut out Alabama on Saturday on a three-hitter, striking out seven and facing just three batters over the minimum. Ryan Waldschmidt and Grant Smith each hit two-run homers in the 7-0 victory. Nick Lopez hits .388/.446/.602 for Kentucky. Émilien Pitre leads the club with 31 RBI and 16 stolen bases while sharing the team lead of four home runs with Nolan McCarthy and Ryan Nicholson.

    Ian Petrutz had two of the Crimson Tide’s three hits on Saturday. Gage Miller slashes .424/.517/.856 with team highs of 13 homers and 39 RBI.

    Right-hander Mason Moore closes out the series for the Wildcats. In seven starts, he is 6-0 with a 2.87 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 37.2 innings. Alabama gives the ball to left-hander Zane Adams, who is 2-1 with a 4.13 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in nine appearances and six starts covering 24 innings.
