The Winnipeg Jets host the St. Louis Blues for Game 2 of this series on Monday night. The Jets are looking to take care of business at home and take a 2-0 series lead. This is the 1 versus 8 seed matchup in the West but the opener did not play that way with the Jets needing a come-from-behind victory to protect home ice. Winnipeg was the best team in the league in terms of points during the regular season and they showed their depth and determination in Game 1 winning 5-3. Winnipeg will be the favorite to win back-to-back games at home with a -190 line in its favor. The Jets won the regular season series 3-1.

The Blues looked good early scoring the first goal of the opener of this series from Robert Thomas on the power play. Mark Scheifele would respond with a power play goal of his own to tie the game for the Jets. After the game, Scheifele became the Jets all-time points leader with 41. Winnipeg went up 2-1 in the first less than two minutes later in the first period but St. Louis would score two more goals through the second to be up 3-2 going into the third.
That’s when the Jets really started hitting their stride. Winnipeg scored three unanswered goals in the final frame. Kyle Connor got the go-ahead goal with less than two minutes left in regulation. It earned him a much deserving first star with the goal and adding two assists. To pain the picture on how much Winnipeg dominated the third, the Jets outshot the Blues 9-2 in the period. St. Louis had just 17 shots and will need to ramp that production up to get back and tie this series.
