Martins Ferry will take the court against St. Clairsville in Ohio for high school basketball game on Thursday night.
Since that last win, they went on a seven-game losing streak, including three conference games, before winning at the end of last week against Cambridge on the road by seven points to snap their losing streak. They took on Buckeye Trail earlier this week at home as well. Their first game against St. Clairsville ended in a 21-point loss for Martins Ferry.
The St. Clairsville Red Devils have had the opposite season that Martins Ferry is having. They are 10-2 overall this season and just 1-1 against teams in the Ohio Valley AAAA conference. They lost their lone conference game in their second game of the season on the road at Union Local by 15 points. Their non-conference loss came just two games after Union Loval against Beaver Local on the road by four points.
They have won nine straight games heading into this week with their last five games beating Bellaire, Union Local in a revenge conference win, Cambridge, Indiana Valley, and Indian Creek. St. Clairsville will stay at home for their next four games before their next road game at the beginning of February.
