After winning the Round of 32 matchup against Huesca in the Spanish Copa del Rey, the club lost its only regular season game in La Liga this month thus far to Valladolid, 1-0. In the first game, Isco scored the only goal in the 38th minute. However, Betis went on to lose 5-1 against FC Barcelona in the Round of 16. Giovani Lo Celso leads the team in scoring this season with seven goals in 13 appearances. He is followed by Vitor Roque with four goals.
Alavés is 4-5-10 overall this season as one of just four teams on the table with double-digit losses through 19 games. The club has a total of 17 points on the table which is one ahead of Espanyol and two behind Leganés. Alavés also has a negative-10-goal differential on the table which is better than any of the two aforementioned teams.
