The Skate America – Men’s Singles, Free Program comes live at 1 p.m. ET only on NBC Sunday afternoon

The 2024 Skate America returns to Allen, Texas. See some of the world’s best skaters, including Olympians and World champions, compete in the kick-off event for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series. Headlining the event for the U.S. are four World medalists: Madison Chock and Evan Bates, Ilia Malinin and Isabeau Levito. On Sunday NBC brings us the Skate America – Men’s Singles, Free Program at 1 p.m. ET. The lineup includes Lucas Broussard who Started skating at age 9 when he learned to skate a ski camp. At the 2023 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships, Broussard set the record for the highest-ever total score in the junior men’s event.

Also skating is Ilia Malinin who began skating at 6 years old because he was at the rink often with his parents, who coach. Became the first skater to successfully land a quad Axel in competition at the 2022 U.S. Figure Skating Classic. Became the youngest men’s Skate America champion in history in 2022. Became the fifth man to break the 300 point mark at 2023 Skate America. Became the first athlete to land a quad Axel in a short program at the 2023 Grand Prix Final. Currently holds the world record for the highest free skate score (set at 2024 Worlds). At the 2024 Worlds, made the fastest turnaround from junior to senior World champion since Alexei Yagudin in 1996 and 1998.

The final skater is Maxim Naumov who Began skating at age 5 and also competed in gymnastics during his first four years skating. Parents Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova were 1994 World pairs champions and are also his coaches. Loves that skating makes him feel free and gives him the opportunity to meet people from all around the world.
