The No. 1-seeded UCLA will face off against the No. 2-seeded USC in the men’s college water polo NCAA Tournament championship tonight. The match will take place in the Avery Aquatic Center in Stanford, California. The Bruins finished their season with a 24-2-0 record in an outstanding year. They opened up this tournament with a game against Salem (West Virginia) and they won dominantly 22-6. Jack Larsen finished with four goals on four shots in an impressive showing. Peter Castillo had three goals on four shots as did Eli Liechty.

In the semifinals, they met up with the No. 4-seeded Stanford and narrowly escaped the game with a 17-14 win to advance to this championship match. Federico Juca Carsalade scored three goals on four shots in this win. Chase Dodd and Nico Tierney are the only two other players with multiple goals in this narrow win.

The Trojans finished as the No. 2 seed heading into the NCAA Tournament. They had a 23-5-0 record overall including just a 2-4 record in their conference. They opened the tournament up with a 17-13 win over California Baptist on Friday. Carson Kranz had four goals in the win as did Robert López Duart who also had three assists on his four goals.

Advancing to the semifinals, they took on Fordham in a game that took overtime to win, 18-16, advancing to the finals here today. López Duart had four goals again in the semifinals with three assists. Andrej Grgurevic had five goals and one assist in a massive showing. Both Max Miller and Jack Martin had three goals each.
