Costa Rica is sitting in second place in the group A standings with a record of 1-1-0 for a total of four points. The team’s most recent game was played against Guyana and resulted in a 9-0 win. Sheika Scott finished the game with a team-high five goals and the team will look to her again on Tuesday to get behind the Americans’ defense to make the same impact.

The United States has been perfect in group stage play and will try to cap it off with another win on Tuesday. The team opened the tournament with an 8-0 win against Guyana before beating Puerto Rico 3-1 on Sunday. Katie Scott opened the scoring for the Americans just five minutes into the game and assisted on Mary Long’s goal 20 minutes later to put her team up 2-0. Long struck again in the second half to add a bit of insurance which was helpful as Puerto Rico snuck one past Kealey Titmuss in the 69th minute. The Americans’ offense was impressive as it managed to produce a total or 24 shots, eight of which ended up on frame in the win.
