The Toyota U.S. Open Championships will conclude today in Greensboro, North Carolina, on the SCY course. The event started on Wednesday and has been running heats and competitions for the previous three days. Some of the most notable gold-medalists from the 2023 U.S. Open Championships include Olympic swimmer Caleb Dressel from Gator Swimming, Bobby Finke from Saint Petersburg, and Chas Kalisz from Sun Devil Swimming. Kalisz and Hubert Kos from the University of Louisville are the only male swimmers to win multiple events last year.

Kate Douglass won the 50-meter freestyle at this event last year. Katie Ledecky from Gator Swim Club won both longest freestyle. Douglass, Siobhan Haughey, Ledecky, and Regan Smith dominated the women’s events. There were 14 different championship records set over the 2023 championships.

The preliminary events and cuts have been happening over the course of the last three days to get prepared for the medaling events which will take place today in the freestyles, backstrokes, butterfly, and breaststrokes.

Names to know going into today include Kennedi Dobson, the high school senior on her way to Georgia, who finished top in the women’s 500 freestyle and 200m individual. Max Carlsen won the 500m freestyle on Day 2. You will not want to miss the final events of the U.S. Open Championships today.
