Off massive upset win, Valencia aims for second consecutive home victory as Osasuna visits Mestalla Stadium
On one of the shortest turnarounds of the entire La Liga season, Valencia plays at home inside Mestalla Stadium today for the second time in four days as it welcomes Osasuna to the Mediterranean coast. Valencia has slogged through the first five matches of the season earning just one point in those fixtures before upsetting Girona 2-0 for its first win of the 2024-25 campaign by tallying a pair of goals in a two-minute span to snag the home victory on Saturday. Osasuna is unbeaten at home this season but has yet to collect points on the road losing by a combined 7-1 score line in two matches on the road.

Osasuna enters today with a six-way tie for its leading goal scorer as the balanced attack has Los Rojillos in the middle of the La Liga table, but its defense has yielded at least one goal in five of its first six matches with two or more goals surrendered in three of its last four outings.
Valencia forward Hugo Duro has two goals in his first four matches this season but has not played since August due to an injury sustained in training earlier this month. Duro is expected to be out of the lineup until October has the muscle injury in his right leg heals.
This has been a competitive series over the last decade with Valencia leading 6-4-2 in La Liga play since 2014. At Valencia the last five matches have been split evenly 2-2-1 with Valencia picking up both wins via clean sheet.
