Washington has been on a hot streak all season and have won three of its last four games which has helped to move the team into second place in the standings with a record of 12-2-4 for a total of 38 points. A win today would move the Spirit within three points of the league-leading Orlando Pride. The team’s most recent game resulted in a 1-1 draw against the San Diego Wave. The Spirit jumped out to a 1-0 lead due to a San Diego own goal in the 30th minute and held on to that lead until the 68th minute. Despite multiple opportunities in the final 20 minutes of play, Washington was unable to score the go-ahead goal and had to settle for one point as a result.

Washington and Portland last met in April and the resulted in a 1-1 draw. Both teams are evenly matched and today’s result could go to either team. Tune in at 12:30 p.m. to catch the action.
