Both teams took down the top teams in the East and West divisions, setting this matchup for the championship in Major League Table Tennis today. In the semifinals, Princeton beat the top team in the West Division, Bay Area 21-11 to punch a ticket to the championship.

This season Princeton was the best in the league in singles matches (148-116) and second best in the Golden Game (13-9) to build its record throughout the regular season.
Texas came away with a win over Carolina, the top-seed in the tournament in the semifinals to earn a way into the championship match. They played a much more competitive match in the 21-14 win. Texas finished the year nearly even across the board in singles (129-135), doubles (32-34) and the Golden Game (11-11) finishing the season with 227 points, fifth in the league overall.
During the regular season the teams played just once with Princeton coming away with a 13-8 win. That was the only match between the teams this season back in early December giving Princeton the edge on Texas with that head-to-head win in its pocket heading into the championship match today.
