NC State will travel across the country to Stanford, California, this weekend for a men’s college basketball clash of two Atlantic Coast Conference teams. On Saturday, they will match up with Stanford at Maples Pavilion. The Stanford Cardinals are 15-8 overall this season and 7-5 against teams in the ACC. They are a half-game in front of North Carolina and two games back from Wake Forest and SMU. They are also five games back from the conference-leading and No. 2 ranked team in the country, Duke.

After winning four straight games, they have since dropped their last two starting last weekend. They opened February against SMU on the road, losing by 24 points and following it up with a loss at home against Wake Forest by six points earlier this week. Maxime Raynaud leads the team in scoring and rebounding this season, averaging 20.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.

The NC State Wolfpack and fallen off a cliff in conference play. They are 9-13 overall this season and went 7-4 against non-conference opponents in the first two months of the year. Since then, they have gone just 2-9 against teams in the conference. They are one game in front of the 1-10 Miami, the last-place conference team, while also sitting 4.5 games behind their opponent today.

They have lost their last five games in a row starting off on the road at Virginia Tech by two points. They lost two games at home to SMU and Cal before heading back on the road. They went to Durham and lost to Duke before coming back home and losing to Clemson last weekend. Earlier this week, they lost again to Cal on the road. Marcus Hill leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 12.9 points per game.
