Along with India, the Aussies and English are the top draws in international cricket. But Australia and England are in transition and younger players will get a taste of the rivalry during the series.

Among the new faces for Australia in the series are all-rounder Cooper Connolly, while veteran wicketkeeper Matthew Wade was dropped in favor of Josh Inglis. Xavier Bartlett and Aaron Hardie are also new to the roster, which is captained by Mitch Marsh. Late changes included Sean Abbott replacing Spencer Johnson (side injury) and Nathan Ellis is out with a hamstring injury.

For England, wicketkeeper Phil Salt captains the squad after Jos Buttler was ruled out with a calf injury. Jamie Overton joined the squad on Sept. 5.

Salt has notched 246 runs and a 35.14 average over his last 10 matches with a 162.91 strike rate. For the Australians, Travis Head piled up 347 runs, a 38.56 average and 175.25 SR in his last 10 matches, while Marcus Stoinis has a 49.25 average and 153.9 strike rate over that span.

England bowler Adil Rashid has 13 wickets and a 6.8 run-per-over economy rate in his last 10 matches with Jofra Archer hitting 13 wickets with a 7.29 economy mark. Leading Aussie bowlers include Adam Zampa (17 wickets, 6.95 econ) and Stoinis, who in nine matches put up 15 wickets and an 8.03 economy rate.

At the T20 World Cup in Bridgetown, Barbados in June, Australia beat England by 36 runs, 201-7 to 165-6 in the group stage. Australia was knocked out in the Super 8 group stage, while England fell in the semifinals to eventual champion India.
