This match was almost a showdown between the top two seeds in the tournament, but the second-seeded team of Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos were not able to finish their semifinal match. Now the finals feature an unseeded team that defeated three top 15 seeds and have a shot at winning a doubles title against one of the best teams in men’s doubles tennis today. In the semifinals, the top-seed had to earn its way to the championship match.

Korda and Thompson took down the team of Jamie Murray and Michael Venussfter dropping the first set and needing a third set tiebreaker. In the end Korda and Thompson won 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 in a thriller.
Korda is in a position to win his first professional title, singles or doubles, in his career. While his sister, Nelly Korda, is dominating the LPGA Tour this season the family Korda are in a great position to win 2024 on the links and on the court with Korda playing great in doubles tennis.
His partner has five doubles wins in his career, including three this year with partner Max Purcell. He has the opportunity to win his sixth here today with three different partners if Korda and Thompson are able to come out with a win against the unseeded team of Pavlasek and Behar.
