Among the players in action during qualifying on Tuesday will be Yannick Hanfmann, Leandro Riedi, Asian Karatsev, Maximilian Marterer, Billy Harris and Damir Dzumhur on the men’s side.
On the women’s side, Maya Joint, Jana Fett, Suzan Lamens, Rebeka Masarova, Robin Montgomery, Eva Lys, Ann Li and Hailey Baptiste will all be in action, searching for spots in the main draw of this year’s U.S. Open.
The tournament in New York runs from August 26 to Sept. 8, with Djokovic and Gauff set to be back to defend their titles. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will be among those with their sights on the men’s title at Flushing Meadows.
Marketa Vondrousova, the 2023 Wimbledon champion, and Cam Norrie pulled out of the US Open on Friday because of injuries.The 18th-ranked Vondrousova has been sidelined by a hurt hand, and the 47th-ranked Norrie has a forearm problem.
