Stanford takes on Arizona State in the first round of the Pac-12 Championship of beach volleyball on Wednesday.
The Pac-12 Championship in beach volleyball continues on Wednesday with the third match of the day showcasing third-seeded Stanford taking on sixth-seeded Arizona State. While the Sun Devils come in as the lower seed, they are positioned to pull off the upset unlike most of the other underdogs today. In the first match this season between the teams the Sun Devils pulled off the upset and proved they can play with the top teams in the conference. This season the Sun Devils have nine wins against ranked teams, including the win over the Cardinal early in the season during the Pac-12 South Tournament that was played in the same venue as this year’s Pac-12 Championship – the home arena of the Sun Devils.
