Meg Morris and the Speedy Turtles will take on Hope Solo and Solo FC in a group stage match in the women’s bracket of The Soccer Tournament on Thursday.

Solo FC will take on the Speedy Turtles in the first game of the group stage in The Soccer Tournament (TST) on Thursday afternoon. These two teams are members of Group WC, just one of the four groups. Each group consists of four teams that will each play one game against each other, with the top two advancing to the knockout stage. Albion SC and Streetball FC Canada join these two teams in Group WC. One of the greatest goalkeepers that women’s soccer has ever seen, Hope Solo, will return this summer with her team, Solo FC.

Solo FC will feature a plethora of high-caliber players, including Cheyna Matthews, who plays for the NWSL side Chicago Red Stars, as well as the Jamaican Women’s National team. Jayden Edwards from the NWSL Seattle Reign, Tiernny Wiltshire, a teammate of Matthews in Jamaica, and Maggie Cagle, a U15-20 USWNT member, are on the team.

The Speedy Turtles is another makeshift team that has entered TST. They bring big energy, bold play, and a style that turns heads. The fastest team in the south, they are impossible to ignore. The Turtles are led by Atlanta Fire United player Alyssa Beck. She is joined by a few top college athletes on the team.

Those players include Alli Schultze from Reinhardt University, Caroline Chipman from the University of Georgia, Jenny Chiu from UNC, Katya Gokhman from Florida State, and Olivia Taylor from Thomas University. NWSL side Portland Thorns player Meg Morris is also a member of this squad.
