The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers snapped a three-game skid with a win on Tuesday and continue their series with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on Wednesday.

The Single-A affiliates for Chicago’s MLB clubs square-off again on Wednesday night at Pelicans Ballpark in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (5-5) face-off against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (2-8). The Cannon Ballers snapped a three-game slide with a win on Tuesday night in the opener of the six-game series while handing Myrtle Beach its fifth straight loss. Kannapolis represents the Chicago White Sox and just one member of the organization’s top 30 prospects is on the roster. Right-hander Seth Keener, 22, is ranked No. 15 for the Sox, per MLB Pipeline. Middle infielder Cristian Hernández, 20, and shortstop Alexis Hernandez, 19, are No. 21 and No. 22, respectively.

The Cannon Ballers bullpen worked 4.1 scoreless innings in a 3-2 Carolina League victory on Tuesday night. Matt Hogan put them up 2-0 with a home run in the second inning and Albertson Asigen lined his first homer of the season to left field in the third inning.

Myrtle Beach got a solo homer from Andy Garriola in the bottom of the second and closed to 3-2 on Cristian Hernández’s RBI single in the bottom of the third before the bullpens locked the game down. Cristian Hernández is slashing .391/.462/.435 with two RBIs and five steals, while Alexis Hernandez hits .250/.308/.361 with one home run and five RBIs so far this season.

Kannapolis had not named a starter for Wednesday, while the Pelicans give the ball to 20-year-old right-hander Mason McGwire. He surrendered two runs on three hits in 2.2 innings during his first start on April 10 against the Columbia Fireflies.
