Notre Dame and Clemson will meet in the third quarterfinal of the ACC tournament in women’s college lacrosse on Wednesday evening.
ACC women’s lacrosse play will continue on Wednesday evening as seventh-seeded Clemson takes on second-seeded Notre Dame in the third quarterfinal of the conference tournament at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte. The Tigers finished ACC play with a record of 3-6 and turned in an overall record of 11-6 at the conclusion of the regular season. On Sunday, the team beat Pitt in a high-scoring 18-15 victory to advance to the quarterfinal round. Regan Byrne scored four goals at attack to lift the team over the Panthers, while Emily Lamparter made eight saves in net to help her team earn the win.

The Fighting Irish bring an overall record of 14-2 and a conference record of 7-2 into Wednesday’s game as well as a nine-game win streak. Last week, the team finished regular season play against Louisville, winning handily in a 23-10 victory. Kasey Choma dominated offensively with seven goals and two assists. Five other players finished with multiple goals in the win and Jackie Wolak supported that offensive play with four assists. Lilly Callahan made 10 saves in net to anchor the defense and keep the team’s win streak intact.
When Clemson and Notre Dame met in conference play earlier in the season, the Fighting Irish narrowly pulled out a 14-13 double overtime victory on the road.
