The penultimate day of the World Athletics Championships from Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, closes out with two huge relay race finals for the men and women. Today featured five events in the morning, three more in the early afternoon and closes out with seven final events in the later afternoon into the evening.

Michael Norman previewed the 400-meter dash for today’s main event in individual performance for the record books.

The main events for today are the women’s and men’s 4×400 meter relay, which gets the final spot on the schedule.

The women will start the two main events with eight relay teams looking to win gold today. The Swiss team will start in the first position, with Italy and the United States rounding out the top three.

There are new teams in this race as the rest of the eight feature Canada, France, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, South Africa and Ghana today.
