The Knights came into the weekend with a record of 6-2 after a very successful first weekend after hosting their own tournament. The team’s only two losses came against ranked opponents with a 4-0 loss to No. 12 Georgia and a 5-4 loss to No. 20 Liberty. UCF did pick up its first ranked win, as well, beating No. 15 Missouri in a close 6-5 victory in extra innings. Against the Flames, Izzy Mertes and Taylor Kittleman each found two hits, but it wasn’t enough to power the offense to a win. Isabella Vega took her first loss of the season in the circle to move to 1-1 so far after 1.2 innings of work and giving up three earned runs.
