Darius Johnson and UCF will take the court against Eric Dixon and Villanova in the semifinals on Saturday of the College Basketball Crown.

On Saturday afternoon, UCF will take on Villanova in a semifinal matchup in the College Basketball Crown tournament at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a chance at a championship berth. The Wildcats head into this round with a 21-14 overall record this season. They closed out their season with a loss in the Big East Tournament in the quarterfinals to UConn. They opened the Crown tournament with a first-round matchup against the Big 12 Colorado. They won that game by 21 points on the back of 24 points from Wooga Poplar on 11-of-17 shooting.

Eric Dixon had 22 points and three rebounds in that first win, completing the dynamic duo of Poplar and Dixon. Heading into the second round, they squeezed by USC with a one-point win 60-59. Eric Dixon had a massive performance with 28 points and four rebounds. Poplar had 16 points and seven rebounds with two assists as well.

The Knights are 19-16 overall this season and bowed out of the Big 12 Championships in the second round against Kansas after beating Utah in the first round. They opened the College Basketball Crown against Oregon State and won by one point, 76-75. Tyler Hendricks led the team in scoring in that win with 15 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting.

Surviving and advancing, they went on to play Cincinnati in the second round, the quarterfinals, of the tournament. Darius Johnson dropped 31 points in a game-high performance on 11-of-23 shooting and a team-high seven assists. Hendricks had 14 points and four rebounds, propelling UCF to the semifinals.
