FC Barcelona and Inter Milan face-off on Wednesday in UEFA Champions League action.
OlÃmpic LluÃs Companys Stadium is set to host the exciting mid-week matchup between home side FC Barcelona and visiting club Inter Milan on Wednesday in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals. The two clubs have faced each other 16 other times in European competition, with the Spanish side winning exactly half of those, to go along with five draws and three losses in that span. The club led by head coach Hansi Flick is winless in its last two, however, which came in the group stages of the 2022-23 UCL campaign, 1-0 away and a 3-3 draw at home. Furthermore, this will be the second time the two clubs have met in the knockout stages of any European Cup or UEFA Champions League, with both coming precisely in the semifinal stage.

The previous semifinal encounter between the two clubs was in the 2009-10 campaign, which saw José Mourinho’s Inter Milan eliminate the then reigning champions 3-2 on aggregate.
The Italian side won 3-1 at the Giuseppe Meazza, while Barcelona took a narrow 1-0 finish at Camp Nou which was just short of taking the game into extra time.
Flick’s men are coming off of a 5-3 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund in this season’s UCL quarterfinals. The club took a 4-0 win in the first leg thanks to goals from Raphinha, Robert Lewandwoski and Lamine Yamal.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, is coming off of a 4-3 aggregate finish over Bayern Munich in the other quarterfinal matchup in the tournament.
