Each of these teams is routinely regarded as scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to European powers but have a chance to plant their flag by escaping UEFA Nations League D and moving into the third tier of the competition. Liechtenstein has never managed to climb that high and has played all three previous editions of the Nations League in the fourth division, while Gibraltar will be targeting bounce-back promotion at the first attempt.

And all signs suggest Gibraltar is capable of getting the better of Liechtenstein after going undefeated in the last four meetings between the two nations, winning two of those.
Los Llanis emerged as 2-0 winners the last time they came up against the Blue-Reds in November 2022, though Andreas Malin’s red card after just 20 minutes helped their cause a lot.
Manager Konrad Fünfstück is still targeting his first win as Liechtenstein manager after taking over the team last year, with the nation having failed to win a competitive fixture since beating San Marino – whom it lost to on Thursday – in 2020.
