Ukraine sits on the verge of beating Belgium to reach the top tier of the UEFA Nations League. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo.

Ukraine holds all the cards as it travels to Genk on Sunday, requiring only a draw or better against Belgium to win the promotion play-off after a comeback victory in Thursday’s opening leg. Ukraine finished second in Group B1 last year to just about edge its way into the play-offs, while Belgium failed to impress en route to a third-place finish in Group A2 behind France and Italy. And the Red Devils are at serious risk of losing their place in League A unless they can overturn a 3-1 deficit at the Cegeka Arena this weekend, needing a win by at least two goals to keep their hopes alive.

After seeing out a goalless draw in their first meeting at Euro 2024 last year, the two teams put on more of a show after they got reacquainted once more in Murcia in midweek.

It was there that Romelu Lukaku thought he had put his team on the path to victory with his 40th-minute opener before three goals in 12 minutes turned the tie on its head.

Oleksii Hutsuliak cancelled out Lukaku’s strike before team-mates Vladyslav Vanat and Illia Zabarnyi joined the action to give Ukraine a strong lead heading into the second leg:

Rudi Garcia replaced Domenico Tedesco as Belgium boss at the start of this year, but the comeback result marked a miserable start to his new role.

Serhiy Rebrov’s side have saved their best form for last after a dreadful start to the latest Nations League campaign, playing all of their home fixtures on neutral territory owing to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

It’s a testament to the team that they’ve managed to make it this far despite that disruption, so playing on Belgian soil shouldn’t feel all that frightening to Sunday’s visitors.
