Who will get the XFL Conference’s spot in the 2025 UFL Championship Game? That will be decided on Sunday evening, when the St. Louis Battlehawks (8-2) host the DC Defenders (6-4) at The Dome at America’s Center in the second of two playoff games for the league on Sunday. The winner of this one will go on to face the winner of the USFL Conference final between the defending league champion Birmingham Stallions and the Michigan Panthers, which is being played earlier in the afternoon on Sunday.

This is the second year in a row the Battlehawks have reached the conference final round of the playoffs. They were the home team last year as well, but lost to the San Antonio Brahmas. DC missed the playoffs entirely last year after going 4-6, making them the only one of the four playoff teams this year that wasn’t in the postseason last year.

The Battlehawks and Defenders played each other twice this year, and split the two meetings with the road team winning each game. In Week 3, the Defenders went into The Dome and won 27-15 as part of their 3-0 start. The teams then met again last week in a game that determined home field advantage for this one, and the Battlehawks won 13-8 to send the action back to St. Louis and cap a six-game winning streak to close out the regular season.
