The Defenders and Showboats meet on Sunday in UFL action.
Week 9 of United Football League action continues on Sunday. The D.C. Defenders, the third-place team in the XFL division, will take on the Memphis Showboats, the last-place team in the USFL division. This game is just for pride as both teams have already been eliminated from the playoffs. The Defenders are 3-5 on the season while the Showboats sit just 1-7 this year.

Last week, the Showboats lost 24-18 to the Michigan Panthers. Case Cookus threw an interception in the loss while splitting time at quarterback with Josh Love. Darius Victor failed to find any running room on the ground, gaining 33 yards on 11 carries.
The Defenders lost 26-21 to the Battlehawks last week. Jordan Ta’amu threw two touchdowns in the loss but was also picked off twice. Darius Hagans had eight carries for 37 yards for the Defenders while Ta’amu added 30 yards on the ground.
