Week 2 of the 2025 UFL season continues on Saturday night when the Memphis Showboats visit the DC Defenders.

On Saturday, there’s a standalone game on the UFL schedule. Saturday night, the Memphis Showboats (0-1) visit the DC Defenders (1-0) at Audi Field. The Showboats come in looking for their first win of the year. In their opener last week they took on the Michigan Panthers, and lost 26-12. Wide receiver Jonathan Adams played well despite the loss, catching six of his seven targets for 93 yards and a touchdown. His 93 yards were the most for any receiver in the league in Week 1, and his six catches tied for the league lead.

Not only did the Defenders start their season with a win last week, they did so over the league’s defending champs. DC visiting the Birmingham Stallions, and came away with an 18-11 victory. The defense was the story of the day for the Defenders, who held the Stallions to 138 yards, and allowed them to convert on just four of their 12 third down attempts.

Last year the Showboats and Defenders met just once. That game, played in Memphis, was the highest-scoring game of the year for the Defenders, who came away with a 36-21 win. Defenders quarterback Jordan Ta’amu completed 20 of his 24 pass attempts in that game for 237 yards. He threw for two touchdowns in that game, and ran for another.
