In Week 6 UFL action on Saturday afternoon, the Memphis Showboats take on the Houston Roughnecks for the second time this year.

Saturday’s lone UFL game is a rematch between two teams in the USFL Division. At noon, the Houston Roughnecks (2-3) will be hosting the Memphis Showboats (1-4) as Week 6 action continues. When they first met in Week 3, the game came down to the wire. Memphis scored a touchdown with 13 seconds to go but instead of trying to tie the game on a one-point play, they went for the win and two points but were stopped and ended up losing 18-17.

Houston’s defense won them the game on the last play, but the unit was great throughout. They forced three turnovers, including interceptions from Leon O’Neal Jr. and Keenan Isaac. O’Neal’s interception was a pick-six.

Both teams have gone 1-1 since that game. Houston lost the following week, dropping a 23-16 game to the defending UFL champions, the Birmingham Stallions. They bounced back in a big way last week, blowing out the San Antonio Brahmas 27-3.

Once again, Houston’s defense was great in that game. San Antonio managed just 118 yards of total offense, and as 1-of-10 on third downs.

Memphis also lost the week following the last meeting. Last week’s game was closer than the Roughnecks’ was, as the Showboats went to overtime where they took down the Stallions 24-20. That was after Birmingham erased a 17-3 deficit to force overtime with a touchdown in the final minute of regulation.
