It took until the final seconds for the Maulers to secure the 21-20 win last week. They outscored the Gamblers 12-3 in the fourth quarter, including a 15-play, 71-yard, 3:34 drive that culminated in the game-winning touchdown.
Wide receiver Bailey Gaither helped carry the Maulers to the win. He caught eight passes for 108 yards and had two scores, including the winner.
New Orleans is coming off playing in the marquee game of Week 5. It fell to the Generals in the only game that featured two teams over .500.
New Orleans’ success is predicated on their passing game. Quarterback Kyle Sloter has thrown for 1,226 yards in five games, while no other quarterback has more than 850. He’s also tied for the league lead with seven passing touchdowns.
Sloter was held relatively in check last week, throwing for just 155 yards in the loss. Will he bounce back in Week 6? Or will the Maulers be able to slow him down? Tune in for kickoff at noon ET on Sunday on FOX Sports 1.
