Westchester hopes to secure its first home win of the USL League One campaign against Richmond on Sunday. Watch the game free on Fubo.

Richmond travels to Mount Vernon to face Westchester on Sunday in the hopes of bagging its first away win since the opening weekend of the 2025 USL League One campaign. The Roos beat Tormenta 4-2 on the road in their opening fixture of the new season but haven’t managed to repeat the feat since then, going five road matches without a win but still sat a respectable fifth in the table standings. Westchester, meanwhile, could make the leap from 12th and into the play-off places if it manages to earn a first home victory of the season following a dismal run of form.

Richmond was hugely disappointed not to come away with a result against the Spokane Velocity last Saturday considering the Kickers played almost 80 minutes of the match with a one-man advantage.

However, that didn’t prevent Anuar Pelaez from deciding all three points for Spokane after he found the back of the net for the fourth game in succession:

USL newcomer Westchester only came into existence last year but it still waiting to make an impression in its first season of operations despite a promising start.

Either side of its season-opening triumph over Texoma, coach Dave Carton’s men also managed to book back-to-back US Open Cup wins over FC Motown and the NY Prancyprian Freedoms.

That run is a thing of the past, however, after the club has now gone seven games without a win and lost all but two of those.

Wstchester thrice came from behind to earn a point at Richmond when these teams met in a chaotic reverse fixture back in April.

Richmond led that clash 3-2 in the 83rd minute before two late goals from Westchester turned the game on its head, only for Josh Kirkland to snag a share of the spoils with his 99th-minute equalizer.
