Top-seed UNC is challenged by Virginia Tech in the first quarterfinal of the ACC Women’s College Lacrosse Tournament on Wednesday.

This season UNC (15-0) has played better than every team in the conference and the country in women’s college lacrosse. The Tar Heels are the only undefeated team in the country heading into the ACC Tournament. As the top-seed in the tournament the Tar Heels face-off against eighth seed Virginia Tech (9-8) in the first quarterfinal. These teams met once during the regular season on the Hokies home field. In that game the Tar Heels dominated 21-9 to remain undefeated. That was one of 11 wins this season where the Tar Heels won by double-digits and 13th game where they held an opponent to single digits.
