The 2025 WNBA season looks to be one of the most exciting in league history.

The biggest season in WNBA history is here. In 2025, teams will each team playing 44 games, the most in league history. This season also begins a period of expansion for the league with the addition a 13th team, the Golden State Valkyries. The league will expand again to 15 teams in 2026, making this an intriguing transitional period as the league gets bigger and bigger.

Players to Know in 2025

Caitlin Clark enters her second WNBA season and will look to lead the Indiana Fever to the next level after an offseason full of roster changes. The defending Rookie of the Year has established herself as arguably the league’s best guard and is one of the top MVP choices in 2025.

But the league is still dominated by forwards.

A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier all enter 2025 with stronger MVP cases than Clark. Wilson and Stewart have won the award before while Collier continues to get better and better each season.

Other big name players to watch in 2025 include Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu and Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas.

This season will also see the debut of hyped rookie Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 overall pick in April’s draft. Bueckers will be tasked with turning around a struggling Dallas Wings franchise.

How to Watch the WNBA in 2025

The WNBA’s television schedule continues to expand in 2025. Some things to know about the 2025 WNBA national television schedule are:

• 26 games with air on Disney networks, including 13 on ABC, the most shown on the network in a single season. ABC and ESPN will also air the WNBA postseason, including an expanded best-of-seven WNBA Finals.
• ION will air 50 regular-season games, the most of any broadcaster.
• CBS will air the league’s first primetime regular-season game on broadcast television.
• The Indiana Fever lead the league with 41 games set to appear on national television.
