The Indiana Fever (1-0) started the season with an emphatic statement and a little bit of history. Caitlin Clark led the charge in a 93-58 win over the Chicago Sky with her third career triple-double. She finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. DeWanna Bonner also climbed up to third on the all-time scoring list with a pair of free throws. Indiana and Clark look to continue that momentum into the second game of the Atlanta Dream (0-1) who started the season with a loss. Brittney Griner signed with Atlanta during the offseason and finished with 18 points and eight rebounds in her debut. Both Indiana and Atlanta entered the season with playoff aspirations.

Griner will not have it easy in the paint against this Indiana team that features a long, deep and talented frontline. Aliyah Boston started the season with 19 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks on 8-12 shooting.
The trio of Natasha Howard, Brianna Turner and Bonner combined for 22 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, chipping in during the season-opening win. Kelsey Mitchell added 15 points on 6-12 shooting. The offense is as good as advertised with Clark serving as the engine.
While the offense and the highlights from Clark and company make the headlines, the substance in the win came on the defensive end. Last season the Fever gave up at least 70 points in every game as the second-worst defense in the league. They started the season by allowing just 58 points.
