Caitlin Clark and the surging Indiana Fever will take on A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday in WNBA action.

Sunday’s showdown between the Indiana Fever (6‑6) and the Las Vegas Aces (5‑7) at Michelob ULTRA Arena will offer WNBA fans a compelling chapter in both teams’ campaigns. The Aces are currently in fifth place in the Western Conference standings and trail the leading Minnesota Lynx by six games, while the Fever sit in third place in the Eastern Conference standings with five games between them and the Lynx. The reigning WNBA champs have struggled recently, losing three straight games after A’ja Wilson returned from a concussion. Wilson does not seem to be back to her normal self just yet, but is still averaging 20.8 points per game and has a 44.2 field goal percentage. Head coach Becky Hammon is pushing for a physical defensive approach to shut down Caitlin Clark, but with individuals around the league criticizing refs for their lack of protection, physicality could pose a problem for Las Vegas.

The Fever comes into Sunday’s game on a high after after punching their ticket to the Commissioner’s Cup final with an 88‑71 win over Connecticut, fueled by Caitlin Clark’s 20 points and Natasha Howard’s double‑double. Clark returned from a quad strain last week to deliver 32 points, eight boards and nine assists in a franchise‑record three‑point display against New York, but followed that performance with only 11 points against Golden State and six turnovers in the team’s loss. Indiana’s front court, led by Aliyah Boston remains a strength, as Boston is averaging 13.8 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game.

While Indiana looks sharper as of late with balanced depth and renewed confidence, Las Vegas can’t be counted out in this cross-conference matchup. Fans can expect a close, physical affair as the Aces try to rattle Clark.
