Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx close out the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup against the Las Vegas Aces.
The Las Vegas Aces (5-5) head into their third straight game without three-time MVP A’ja Wilson in the lineup. She remains sidelined in concussion protocol, delaying the first matchup of the season with early-season MVP front-runner Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx (10-1). In the first two games without Wilson in the lineup this season Las Vegas came from behind to steal a win and then lost the next to split the games. The silver lining of Wilson missing these games might be getting Jewell Loyd out of her early-season shooting slump and into a rhythm. Loyd is averaging 19.0 points on 54.1% shooting in the two games with Wilson.

To start the season, Loyd was averaging just 9.1 points per game on shooting splits that defied logic. The 11-year veteran and former scoring champion was shooting 37.2% from three, but just 21.4% from inside the three-point line.
For Minnesota, it bounced back from the first loss of the season with a 101-78 win over the Los Angeles Sparks to become the first team in the WNBA to 10 wins. Collier led the way with 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks in another MVP resume-building performance.
Last season Collier dominated against Las Vegas with Wilson in the lineup. She averaged 20.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game on 51-41-88 shooting splits in four games, leading Minnesota to three wins.
