The Sparks also got off to a strong 2025 start after beating the Golden State Valkyries 84-67 in their season opener on Friday night. Surprising to no one, Kelsey Plum dominated offensively, scoring 37 points to lead Los Angeles in scoring. Dearica Hamby and Azurá Stevens were also in double figures, scoring 14 and 11 points, respectively. Hamby earned her first double-double of the season in the win by also getting 10 rebounds to lead both teams on the boards. Los Angeles shot 46 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from long range, while going 19-for-21 from the line in the win.
