Rookie Janelle Salaun and the Golden State Valkyries host the undefeated Minnesota Lynx on Sunday for the first time this season.

The Minnesota Lynx (6-0) look to wrap up the second full week of the 2025 WNBA season undefeated in their first-ever trip to play the Golden State Valkyries (2-3) on Sunday. With a win, Minnesota will tie the franchise’s fourth-best start to a season with seven straight wins. Minnesota might have to accomplish that feat without MVP front-runner Napheesa Collier (knee), who is listed as day-to-day. She missed her first game of the season, but Minnesota was able to rally for a thrilling win in the final seconds to remain undefeated. If Collier is out again that will leave the team in the hands of Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride and Alanna Smith.

In Minnesota’s win over the Phoenix Mercury without Collier in the lineup, it was led by McBride with 20 points and the game-winning steal. McBride jumped an inbounds pass with 13.1 seconds remaining in the game, leading to a Natisha Hiedeman game-winning three-pointer in the corner.

Smith added 19 points, four rebounds and four blocks in the win, doing a little bit of everything without Collier anchoring the team on both ends. Williams hit the game-tying three and made the pass for the Hiedeman game-winner, finishing the game with 11 points and seven assists.

For Golden State this season has started off better than anyone could have projected. They started out the season 2-1 and playing some of the best defense in the league before dropping back-to-back games to the New York Liberty.
