Kahleah Copper leads the Phoenix Suns against her former team in the Chicago Sky today. Watch the game for free on Fubo.

The final three seeds in the WNBA playoffs are still up in the air with the Phoenix Mercury (17-20) still in a position to finish as high as sixth and the Chicago Sky (13-24) trying to hold on for the final spot. Heading into today, Phoenix has lost three games in a row, two of which came with All-Star and Olympian Kahleah Copper out of action. In those losses, the offense has been out of sorts dropping Phoenix from sixth in the playoff standings to on the verge of clinching the seventh seed with a loss or Indiana Fever win today. For Chicago, it has seen the wheels fall off as of late losing nine of the last 11 games, including a seven-game skid before rookie rebounding phenom Angel Reese went out for the season and two more heading into today.

Since Reese went out Chicago’s other first-round pick Kamilla Cardoso has been given a bigger role on both ends of the floor, averaging 13.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. She will be leaned on again today with Brittney Griner in the paint setting the stage for a battle of the bigs.

Chicago enters this game tied with the Washington Mystics for the eighth seed in the playoffs but loses the head-to-head tiebreaker. They need every win down the stretch to shock the league and make the playoffs after hitting the reset button on their roster this year by trading away Copper and welcoming in two rookies in Reese and Cardoso to take the reins.

For Phoenix it is simple. Another loss today and an Indiana win locks them into the seventh seed, which likely means a first-round playoff series with the Minnesota Lynx. With a win and an Indiana loss, there is still hope to finish with the sixth seed this season.
