Satou Sabally and the Phoenix Mercury host Skylar Diggins and the Seattle Storm for the first time since the season opener.

The Phoenix Mercury (6-3) have kept their heads above water and weathered the early storm of injuries with Kahleah Copper and Alyssa Thomas both out with injuries. Satou Sabally has anchored Phoenix along with a cast of undrafted rookies to have the second-best record in the Western Conference. Phoenix looks to build on its last home with another against a familiar opponent in the conference rival Seattle Storm (4-4). This season has started off with ups-and-downs for Seattle opening the 2025 campaign with a loss to Phoenix, followed by three straight wins that was then followed by three straight losses. Skylar Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike will have a chip on their shoulders after the season-opening loss to Phoenix heading into this game.

In the season opener, Seattle struggled to score outside of Diggins and Ogwumike who combined for 23 points on 12-24 shooting. The rest of the team finished the game with just 26 points on 23.1% shooting.

For Phoenix, it is likely to be without Thomas (calf), Copper (knee) and Natasha Mack (back) again for this game. Sabally has stepped up without her All-Star teammates stuffing the statsheet with 21.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Phoenix has also seen the undrafted rookies step up in big ways, including a 24-point explosion from Lexi Held in a win over the Golden State Valkyries. Held scored 24 or more points just seven times in college across four years and 121 games with DePaul.
