Napheesa Collier and the first-place Lynx will host Kelsey Plum and the Sparks on Saturday night in WNBA action.

The Los Angeles Sparks travel to Minnesota on Saturday night for a game against the league-leading Lynx at the Target Center. The Sparks have struggled this season at 4-9 and are looking to get back into the competitive mix of the league by breaking a two-game losing streak on Saturday night. Their season pivot rests on healthy returnees and the revival of their offensive spark. Kelsey Plum, the team’s leading scorer (20.9 PPG, 5.6 APG), will return to the court after missing one game with a left-leg issue last week. Her return will mark a key boost to the offense, but with Cameron Brink missing the season with an ACL tear, the team remains slightly shorthanded. With Rae Burrell, Odyssey Sims and Julie Allemand also out, Coach Lynne Roberts must rearrange her offense, leaning on Plum, Azurá Stevens and emerging scorers like Rickea Jackson to light a fire.

If the Sparks are going to be the surging Lynx, Saturday night will be the time to do it. Minnesota is leading the league with a record of 11-1 and has won two games in a row, but with Napheesa Collier questionable for Saturday’s game with a back injury, the team could be without its most powerful weapon. Minnesota picked up a 76‑62 win over the Aces in its last game, and Collier only scored seven points before leaving the court with back spasms. Courtney Williams stepped up to the plate and finished the game with a team-high 20 points. If Collier suits up Saturday, her 24.4 PPG and 8.5 RPG will loom over the Sparks’ defense. If not, the Sparks will have a chance, but they will still need to bring their best play against a deep bench.

While the Lynx are 10‑point favorites, the Sparks are also known to put up scores in the 80s, which could lead to a high‑scoring affair. Tune in Saturday night to see if Plum’s return can spark a fizzling offense as Los Angeles tries to take down a league giant.
