    Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx aim to even up the WNBA Semifinals against Alyssa Thomas and the Connecticut Sun today.

    Game 1 of the WNBA Semifinals between the Connecticut Sun (1-0) and the Minnesota Lynx (0-1) saw the road team steal home court advantage. Connecticut started and closed the first game of this series strong with Alyssa Thomas and Marina Mabrey leading the way again. During the postseason those two have formed one of the best duos in the league. Thomas has been the engine averaging 16.7 points, 11.7 assists and 8.3 rebounds per game with three double-doubles and one triple-double. Mabrey has been a flamethrower off the bench and as a starter leading the team with 21.3 points per game making 4.7 three-pointers per game. Those two cracked the Minnesota defense late in the game to steal one on the road heading into Game 2 today.

    Thomas nearly finished with a triple-double again (17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists) while Mabrey splashed home a career-best six three-pointers finishing with 20 points. DiJonai Carrington (13 points and nine rebounds) and DeWanna Bonner (10 points, 11 rebounds and five assists) also finished in double-figures in the 73-70 win.

    Heading into Game 2 three-point shooting will be the key for Minnesota. This season they averaged 9.5 made three-pointers per game and shot 38.0% from deep, third and first in the league respectively. In Game 2 they shot 5-20 from three with Bridget Carleton as the only consistent threat finishing 3-6 from three.

    When Minnesota is sharing the ball and making three’s it opens up the floor for MVP runner-up Napheesa Collier to efficiently pick apart the defense. In the first two games of the playoffs Minnesota made 10 three-pointers and Collier totalled 80 points on 64.1% shooting. Against Connecticut in Game 1 she finished with 19 points on 43.8% shooting while the team made just five shots from deep.
