Duke looks to improve to 8-0 in ACC play when it hosts Georgia Tech on Sunday in women’s college basketball.

Duke is absolutely red hot when it hosts Georgia Tech for this ACC showdown on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils are going for their 10th win in a row, and they’re looking to stay perfect in the ACC with a 7-0 conference record. Duke is 6-1 at home and 12-6 overall. The only place Duke has really struggled this season is in neutral games, but that won’t present any issue today. The Blue Devils should be the huge favorite at home tonight. Duke is coming off a 65-58 win over Virginia on Thursday. Duke was led by sophomore Toby Fournier, who put up 25 points and added nine rebounds. The Blue Devils got off to a fast start, outscoring the Cavaliers by nine in the first quarter. But by the time the third quarter rolled around, Virginia came back swinging, outscoring Duke 21-9 in the penultimate quarter. The Blue Devils got it together in the end, going on a 20-7 run. This start in conference play is the best under head coach Kara Lawson and the best since a 15-0 ACC run in the 2012-13 season. Don’t expect that streak to end tonight.

The Yellow Jackets are 8-10 overall and 3-3 in ACC play. They have won just one game on the road with a 1-5 away record. The good news for Georgia Tech is that it has won four of its last five games, including a victory over No. 18 Notre Dame in overtime. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a very close game at home, beating Clemson 58-55 last Sunday.

The Tigers outscored the Yellow Jackets in the first half, but Georgia Tech’s defense clamped down, especially in the third quarter, limiting Clemson to just six points. It helped that Georgia Tech started the third on a 12-2 run. Georgia Tech’s Talayah Walker led all scorers with 22 points. The Yellow Jackets will need to get off to a much quicker start tonight if they’re going to have any chance at pulling off this road upset.
