No. 14 North Carolina tangles with No. 22 Florida State in the first quarterfinal at the ACC tournament

No. 14 North Carolina (26-6) survived a second-round scare on Thursday to advance to Friday’s quarterfinal at the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament at First Horizon Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. The fifth-seeded Tar Heels take on No. 22 Florida State (23-7), the tourney’s No. 4 seed on Friday morning. The Seminoles are likely to continue their streak of consecutive NCAA tournament, which stands at 11, but they haven’t gotten past the first round since 2019. North Carolina has played in the last five NCAAs, getting to the Sweet Sixteen in 2022.
