The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Virginia Tech Hokies face-off in the second round of the ACC Tournament in women’s college basketball.

The second round of the ACC Tournament features a showdown between two teams that went to double-overtime the last time they shared the court. Earlier this season Virginia Tech (18-11) outlasted Georgia Tech (21-9) in that double-overtime win. Now the Hokies enter the ACC Tournament as the eighth-seed taking on the Yellow Jackets who earned the ninth-seed. Heading into the ACC Tournament the Yellow Jackets have lost four straight games and five of the last six losing momentum down the stretch. The winner of this game will move on to challenge top-seeded N.C. State for an opportunity to play in the ACC Tournament semifinals.

In the overtime thriller the teams went back-and-forth, trading blows for all four periods. The Hokies needed to erase a five point deficit in the fourth period to force the first overtime. Then in overtime the Hokies had more gas in the tank using a 13-2 run to close out the win.

Carleigh Wenzel led the way with 24 points and 10 assists for her second double-double of the season and tying her career-high in assists. Alanna Micheaux (20 points and 12 rebounds) and Lani White (24 points, five rebounds and four assists) also made major plays in the win.

For the Yellow Jackets the offense was carried by Kara Dunn (33 points and 10 rebounds) and Tonie Morgan (28 points) combining for 61 of the teams 94 points.
